Portugal

While it is true that Portugal is no longer best kept in the Iberian Peninsula, the secret, it’s pretty easy to escape the crowds. Even in the most popular tourist resorts of the Algarve, it only takes a short bus ride or a walk through the field to show little frequented places that still offer a sense of discovery – a sentiment close to the Portuguese soul. Portugal has an old world charm, with medieval castles and picture-perfect villages scattered along the coast and winding hills covered with flowers. Of the ancient university city of Coimbra Portuguese favorite refuge of Lord Byron, Sintra, the country’s proud history can be felt everywhere.

Sun-drenched beaches like Cascais and Sagres offer temptations of a more hedonistic. In fact, the dramatic end of the world’s wild cliffs, beaches, dunes protected coves and sand islands off the coast of Portugal has long enchanted visitors and residents alike. Meanwhile, the nation’s capital, Lisbon, and its northern rival, Porto, are magical places for the traveler, river view, cobblestone streets and rattling trams framed by looming cathedrals.

Known as the Statute of Rome of Portugal, Braga compact center is full of splendid baroque churches. Baroque churches, and the clamor of bells, are a constant reminder of what’s in charge here. In fact, Braga has been a center of religious power and the conversion of the Visigoths in the sixth century. Its cathedral, built in the 12th century as Portugal, but was fought by the Moors – is the oldest in Portugal.

But do not come alone waiting for mercy: the compact downtown pedestrian streets are bustling with cafes and worldly concerns, and students from the Universidade do Minho add except much younger.

Montenegro

Montenegro is emerging from the shadow of Yugoslavia and began to be admired for the beauty that is. No longer must visitors think they will fall by the edge of the world when traveling east beyond Dubrovnik. Sapphire blue Adriatic Sea Croatia does continue. But here is supported by a steep mountain range of gray, leaving enough room for a strip of coastal cities in a sweep of sandy beaches and small coves stretching to the border with Albania.

Historic walled towns as Stari Bar, Budva, Kotor and Herceg Novi are ideal for exploring, and anywhere along the coast you can find private rooms in a rest-away village by the sea. The interior is a setting of spectacular mountains, crowned with pine forests dotted with lakes and dizzying marked by deep canyons. The highest region, the Durmitor National Park is a favorite for winter skiing and summer hiking in a pristine mountain scenery, while Tara canyon deep down, beams intrepid defied their rapid fall. So much for a small country – the world’s newest nation.

While only 293 miles long, the packages off the coast of Montenegro in some of the best coastline of the Adriatic has to offer. From the border with Albania, endless sandy beaches, interspersed with small coves of fishing boats floating, carried all the way to a dramatic end of the fjord of Kotor on the border with Croatia.

Kotor, with its picturesque walled city located in front of the deepest fjords of southern Europe has a more dramatic setting of Montenegro. In a gloomy climate of the atmosphere becomes all dark shades of Wagner and cut the fingers of sunlight, while on a sunny day the wind-waves in the water sheen purple. Stari Grad (Old Town), located in the lee of a mountain, is a maze of cobblestone streets linking small boxes that contain the old churches and ancient aristocratic mansions.

Estonia

Although the smallest of the Baltic countries, Estonia (Eesti) makes its presence felt in the region, with its charming seaside towns, quaint villages and country green forests and swamps, all set the stage for the discovery of many other jewelry cultural and natural. However, Estonia is also known for magnificent castles, pristine islands and a cosmopolitan capital amid medieval splendor. No wonder Estonia is no longer Europe’s best kept secret.

Tallinn, Estonia crown jewel, has cobblestone streets and century homes rejuvenated 14. Dozens of bars and restaurants make an ATM withdrawal after exploring historic churches and picturesque ruins, galleries and boutiques. In the evening, elegant halls and youth clubs offer a vision of the sexy side of the city. Some visitors find it difficult to escape the undeniable charm of Tallinn, but outside the capital, the bucolic landscape hides numerous attractions. Lahemaa National Park in northeastern Estonia has lush forests and beautiful coastal paths.

South of cosmopolitan spiritual center of Estonia, Tartu is the city Otepää Hill, with its relaxed and charming ski trails. Peoples beautiful beach resorts and medieval ruins are scattered western shores of the country. Farther west is the largest island in Estonia, Saaremaa and in it the towns of England, Karja, Triigi and Tuhkana where windmills, lighthouses emblematic 19th century, the pristine beaches and medieval ruins further transport visitors to another time.

Covering large areas of Estonia, forests, grasslands and wooded swamp unappreciated form backdrop for many activities. Walks through wooded trails, horseback riding and canoeing along the coast of the flooded forests can be linked to the ancient desert. There is also a great ski birdwatching, cross-country in winter and swimming in crystal clear lakes and rivers in summer. This makes a nice prelude to a sauna, a national pastime.

Mozambique

Mozambique is an up-and-coming African hot spots, beautiful beaches, excellent diving and magical islands. Go diving around the Bazaruto Archipelago, sail on a dhow through mangrove channels or relax under the palms in the Quirimbas Archipelago, taking an off-beat safari in the wilds of Gorongosa National Park, walking the cobblestone streets past stately colonial buildings on Ilha de Mozambique, a coffee bar in one of the lively outdoor cafes in Maputo (or perhaps a caipirinha in one of the jazz bars), see the silversmiths at work at Ibo Island or dance to country music brand marrabenta.

For nearly two decades, many of these attractions were inaccessible because of a prolonged guerrilla war. Now are dark times in the past, and Mozambique is one of the rising stars of Africa, with an upbeat atmosphere, markets full of 2,500 kilometers and a coastline waiting to be discovered. If you are willing to something tamer, stick to the south of Mozambique, where roads and communication routes (especially with neighboring South Africa) are good and plentiful housing options. For more adventure, head across the Zambezi River in the jungles of northern Mozambique, one of the last frontiers of Africa. Getting around here a while, but the paradisiacal coastal panoramas and sense of space, pure adventure and travel – for those with a healthy budget – some of the lodges on the mainland of the island paradise to make the trip licas well worth it.
